Our history and organisational structure

Borrowbrook Home Link was launched in September 2002, after extensive research concerning the facilities available for residents within the parish.

In 2004 we received the Mayor’s Award for service to the community.

We are managed by a group of Trustees, including an accountant, a solicitor, a retired GP, a member of the Local Authority Social Services Department, and members of the community, and are assisted by an office based co-ordinator.

Our aims and objectives:

  • To alleviate isolation and loneliness

  • To offer communal activities for senior citizens living within Ockbrook and Borrowash

Developing our service

Once a quarter key workers in the local community meet for lunch, to evaluate progress in working together, and share ideas for further developments to enhance available services.

Funding

As a registered charity, we are dependent upon donations and gifts for our funding.  These are always acknowledged, and are gratefully received.
